Morton Hall Gardens
Morton Hall Gardens, located in Worcestershire, England, is an 8-acre historic garden and has undergone an extensive make-over by landscape architect Charles Chesshire. Set upon a steep escarpment, a series of connected ‘garden rooms’, surrounding the Georgian manor house, offer commanding views over the Vale of Evesham.
The garden’s impressive layout, with its various ‘rooms’, takes visitors through a dynamic tour: from the West Garden’s Mediterranean-style planting and expansive vistas, across a vibrant kitchen garden, into the soft‑pastel South Garden, past a woodland rock garden, through a Japanese-style stroll garden with ponds and a tea-house, and finally into the New Garden featuring flowering trees and roses.
Each ‘room’ is uniquely defined by planting styles, colour palettes, and mood, yet all flow seamlessly, ensuring that a tour of the gardens feels like a cohesive narrative through changing seasons and landscapes.
In spring, the garden bursts into life with seasonal gems with thousands of bulbs, including 6,000 tulips. Whereas during the summer months the practical and beautiful walled garden is abundant with fruit and vegetables.
