Jupiter Artland

Jupiter Artland is a contemporary sculpture park set within the 120-acre estate of Bonnington House, a 19th-century Jacobean manor house located just outside Edinburgh. Founded by philanthropist art collectors Robert and Nicky Wilson, it was opened in 2009 and aims to make contemporary art accessible by providing an immersive experience of art in nature. Home to over 30 permanent and unique site-specific sculptures from artists including Phyllida Barlow, Christian Boltanski, Charles Jencks, Anish Kapoor and Antony Gormley, visitors can enjoy the blending of modern sculpture with the natural beauty of rural surroundings.

The estate itself includes woodlands, meadows, and tranquil lakes, all of which serve as the backdrop for the diverse collection of sculptures. Visitors can explore outdoor installations and indoor exhibits, with works that invite interaction and contemplation.

Jupiter Artland has become a key part of Scotland’s cultural landscape, known for its commitment to innovative art and its harmonious integration with nature.

In 2016, Jupiter Artland was shortlisted for the 2016 Museum of the Year award.
