This delightful, high season tour travels the length of Wales and incorporates superb scenery including Snowdonia (Eryri) and the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) National Parks. We visit castles, famous gardens, private estates and stay in two lovely hotels. We also see the newest RHS garden at Bridgewater.

We meet at London Euston Train Station for our morning departure. We take the train to Warrington where the coach will meet us for our transfer to RHS Bridgewater Garden. We have lunch (independent) followed by a tour of the garden.
We continue on to the 4-star Bodysgallen Hall Hotel, North Wales for check-in. We have dinner in the hotel (included).
Sunday 11th July
We begin our day with a visit to Bodnant Gardens – often described as one of the most spectacular gardens in Wales with their formal terraces giving far reaching views to the mountains of Snowdonia. We have an introductory talk on arrival followed by free time to explore the gardens and have lunch (independent).
In the afternoon, we visit Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens on the Isle of Anglesey. This large estate has been restored since 1996 and the historic gardens have undergone a spectacular transformation. We have dinner in a local restaurant (included).
Monday 12th July
This morning we enjoy a tour of Bodrhyddan Hall, a historic estate and home to Lord Langford and his family for over 500 years. We enjoy a tour of the hall and have time to explore the gardens before lunch (included).
In the afternoon we continue onto a unique private garden, The Laundry Garden. This hidden gem located at the foot of the Clwydian Hills has been created since 2008 by the current owners, in and around a 1-acre Georgian walled garden. We have a tour of the garden with the owners before returning to the hotel for dinner (included).
Tuesday 13th July
After checking-out of our hotel, we travel south and visit a charming private garden for morning coffee.
Powis Castle is our next stop. We have time for lunch (independent) and to explore the castle and gardens. This impressive medieval castle houses the treasures collected by the Clive family and the terraced garden boasts spectacular yew hedges, lavish herbaceous borders and Italianate terraces.
We continue on to Abergavenny, an attractive market town on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park to check-in to the 4-star Angel Hotel. Dinner is in the hotel (included).
Wednesday 14th July
We head to a most picturesque farmhouse Allt-y-Bela, home of renowned garden designer Arne Maynard where we enjoy a guided tour of his gardens. We pause nearby, for a light lunch (independent).
After lunch we visit a wonderful private garden, nestled in the Usk Valley which has been created over the past 10 years. Set in two acres, perennial borders and wildflower areas are contrasted against structural elements of topiary and hedging. We then stop for dinner in a local pub (included).
Thursday 15th July
Today brings exclusive visits to three of Britain’s finest private Arts & Crafts gardens, designed by Avray Tipping. We begin with a talk by Helena Gerrish at Tipping’s former home, High Glanau Manor, famed for its superb double herbaceous borders.
We then head to Wyndcliffe Court for lunch (included) and a walk through the gardens featuring a sunken garden, lovely roses, and far reaching views.
We end at Mounton House – an extensive Edwardian house and garden, which has been recently re-imagined by the current owners with the help of award-winning garden designer, Arne Maynard. We return to the hotel where your evening is at leisure (independent).
Friday 16th July
This morning enjoy a private visit to a characterful 7-acre garden that surrounds a 16th century timbered house with splendid herbaceous borders and central pond. We stop for lunch (independent) in the town of Ledbury.
In the afternoon, we visit Llanover Gardens. This wonderful estate sits in the Usk Valley at the foot of the Black Mountains. The 18-acre Grade II-listed garden features water throughout its walled ‘round garden’, two arboreta and extensive herbaceous borders. We return to the hotel for our final night dinner (included).
Saturday 18th July
After check-out, we head back towards London Heathrow Airport. En-route we stop at the home of two self-confessed ‘plantaholics’ whose knowledge of botany and plant breeding is unsurpassed. They will show us around their 2-acre garden at Highfield Farm which is densely planted to generate an exuberant display.
We have lunch (included) and in the late afternoon, we drop off at The Sheraton Heathrow Hotel and Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 for inter-terminal transport links and the Heathrow Express train travel into London.

Our hotels are 4-star and selected for their high standards of comfort and service. All rooms are en-suite and offer free wi-fi access.
Bodysgallen Hall, Llandudno (3 nights)
Secluded in over 200 acres of parkland with spectacular views of Snowdonia and Conwy Castle, Grade I listed Bodysgallen Hall provides all that is best in country house hospitality. Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th century parterre of box hedges and a walled rose garden and several follies. All 31 rooms are individually designed in a traditional country house style and thoughtfully furnished with antiques and fine prints and paintings.

Established in 1829 as a posting inn, The Angel is a smart, lively hotel in the middle of picturesque Abergavenny. The elegant former coaching inn, has 32 comfortable rooms, a stylish restaurant and a separate cosy bar. TOUR PAYMENT: A 10% non-refundable deposit is requested at the time of booking to secure your place on the tour. Your tour balance payment is due 90 days prior to tour departure.
